The All Naga Students’ Association Manipur (ANSAM) has launched a district tour across hill district particularly inhabited by Naga communities to assess ground realities in the education and health sectors. The delegation was led by ANSAM President Angteshang Maring and accompanied by Daichui Gangmei, President of the Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation Manipur (RNSOM).
As part of the tour, the team visited Tamenglong College, Tamenglong Higher Secondary School and several other educational institutions in Tamenglong district. The representatives held interactions with principals and headmasters to understand the grievances and challenges faced by the institutions. Issues relating to infrastructure gaps, manpower shortages and the need for improved learning facilities were reportedly highlighted during the interactions.
The delegation also inspected the Tamenglong District Hospital to review healthcare services available to the public. The team assessed the condition of medical facilities, staffing patterns and essential services, with a focus on overall well-being and healthcare access for the Naga community.
According to ANSAM, the purpose of the tour was to evaluate the existing education and health systems in the district, identify gaps that require urgent attention and formulate strategies that could bring positive changes in Naga-inhabited areas. Both ANSAM and RNSOM reiterated their commitment to work jointly for the betterment of the Naga society, placing priority on education, healthcare and the welfare of the people.
