The annual General Council meeting of Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) was held today at Raj Bhavan. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, who is the Chairman of the Akademi presided over the meeting. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, the Vice-Chairperson of MSKA also attended the meeting. The meeting deliberated on a number of agendas. The meeting also finalised the list of nominees for MSKA Fellow, MSKA Award (Performing Arts), MSKA Young Talent Award, MSKA Award for Literature and MSKA Award for Fine Arts. The meeting observed a one-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed gurus and other cultural personalities of the state.
Governor Acharya appreciated the members of MSKA for their understanding and cooperation in passing the resolutions in the meeting and expressed his confidence that MSKA will work further as a leading cultural agency in the state for the nourishment of the rich cultural heritage and its legacy.
Chief Secretary, Dr. Vineet Joshi, Sumant Singh, Secretary to Governor also attended the meeting.
