All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) Vice President Naorem Wangamba has raised concerns over governance and its impact on Manipur’s future, calling for responsible leadership to address emerging challenges.
He was speaking at a programme held at Pitambara School, Kwakeithel, as part of AMSU’s “Realise to Save the Indigenous Peoples of Manipur” campaign, conducted in connection with the 46th observation of “Mikap Thokpa.”
Wangamba stated that demographic and socio-political changes over the years have created pressures on the state, leading to growing concerns among indigenous communities. He noted that the current situation reflects weakening administrative control and increasing uncertainty among the people.
Highlighting AMSU’s role, he said the organisation has consistently worked with the public on key issues but added that public concerns have often gone unaddressed. He cautioned that failure to take timely measures could further destabilise the situation.
Reaffirming AMSU’s commitment, Wangamba said the union would continue working with the people to address challenges and safeguard indigenous interests.
The programme was attended by AMSU members, students, and Thingbaijam Umananda, Assistant Teacher of Pitambara English School.
