All Manipur Police Constable Male (AMPCM), 2013 Batch has threatened to call 24 hours general strike from the midnight of March 31 till April 1 midnight if the State Government failed to fulfill their demands.
Speaking to the media persons at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, President of AMPCM, Konthoujam Johnson said that on March 21, 2016, a memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur and other concern departments to conduct the viva-voce of the remaining selected candidates of Thoubal and Imphal West District on or before March 28, 2016.
Despite the submission of the memorandum, no response has been made from the concern department. The recruits were not allowed to meet Deputy Chief Minister who is also holding the Home portfolio for no reason, Johnson said.
Announcing further course of actions, Johnson also informed that AMPCM would resorted to impose indefinite economic blockade if the concern department fail to comply with their demands within 24 hour of their proposed general strike.
