AMCTA to begin cease work strike; sets Feb 20 as deadline

All Manipur College Teachers’ Association (AMCTA) has served an ultimatum to the Government of Manipur with February 20 as the deadline for issuing the Notification/Orders for implementation of 7th UGC Pay to the college teachers of Manipur.
The ultimatum was served as per the resolution of the Executive Committee meeting of AMCTA held on February 8.
AMCTA further stated that the college teachers under the banner of AMCTA will launch Cease Work Strike from February 22 if the Government fails to fulfill the demand within the deadline.
A statement issued by the AMCTA said that the step was taken up as per the authorization of General Body to the Executive Committee to take steps for fulfilment of demands of teaching community and upliftment of higher education of the state, mass mobilization will be started from February 16 onwards.
The AMCTA appealed all the principals, unit secretaries, and teachers of unit colleges to ensure a good academic atmosphere in campuses of respective colleges by discharging their duties and conduct classes to meet the needs of students till February 20 with maintaining the solidarity of Association.
