Home Minister of the state Gaikhangam today said that altogether 846 vehicles are allotted in the Police Department of Manipur.
He said this during the ongoing budget session of Manipur Legislative Assembly while answering a starred question raised by Samuel Risom, MLA of Ukhrul AC. Out of these 206 vehicles are allotted to the SPs of Hill Districts and the remaining are the vehicles allotted to the SPs of Valley Districts. Of these 234 vehicles are allotted to SP Imphal West District. 151 vehicles are allotted to SP Imphal East. SPs of Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Chandel, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul have 105, 150, 32,40,54,37 and 43 vehicles respectively. In his answer, Home Minister also clarified that the Officer-in-Charge in Hill Districts are provided vehicles.
In another starred question asked by Th. Shyamkumar, MLA of Andro AC, Minister of Public Health and Engineering Department, I Hemochandra said that there are 1924 Water Supply Schemes in Manipur as of now.
Hemochandra continued that out of the total figure 1328 Water Supply Schemes are centrally sponsored schemes and 596 are under the state government. I. Hemochandra further said that 468 Water Supply Schemes are under construction. Out of these 270 are centrally sponsored Water Supply Schemes and 198 are under the state Government.
In another starred question, asked by Kh. Joykishan Singh, MLA Thangmeiband AC, he answered that an amount of Rs. 5339.99 lakh has been spent till date for the purchase of different sizes of pipes by PHED since 2012 April till date. He also said that the pipes purchased by PHED has not been delivered by the supplier. I. Hemochandra also said that laying of pipes has been taken up in Thangmeiband AC as well.
