Alleged rapist and murderer of an eight years old, was beaten up blues and black by the locals of Theiroijam Maning Leikai at around 11.00 am today.The alleged rapist has been identified as Chingangbam Shyamjai (25), s/o. (L) Ingocha of Theiroijam Maning Leikai.According to report the accused allegedly raped and murdered the eight years old girl. The dead body of the minor girl was found at a field near Theiroijam Maning Leikai at around 08.30 pm yesterday. Family members said the minor girl had left her home at around 02.00 pm to hand over snacks to her father at the field. She was brutally murdered by smashing with a stone at her head. The condition she was found suggested that she was murdered after being raped.Wrath over the incident locals of Theiroijam went on in search of the culprit involved in the crime. At around 09.00 am the locals found the suspect and while interrogation he allegedly revealed that he had committed the crime. The locals then pour their anger at him and he was left thinking that he is dead. However a police team who rushed the spot found the culprit lying alive and later evacuated him at RIMS Hospital. He is presently undergoing treatment there. He sustained multiple injuries at his head, back, chest and other parts. Patsoi police has taken up a case regarding the incident.
