All India Students’ Federation, Manipur State Council blamed the Education Minister M Okendro over his silence to the recent case of rape of two students. In a press statement, the student organisation said that negligence of the authority has lead to the increase of crime against women and children in the state. It said that till November the students’ federation has recorded a total of 289 crimes against women and children, out of this 60 are rape case. In most of the case government has failed to take up appropriate action against the culprits involved.
