Agri Dept. launches statewide PM-KISAN land record updation drive

The Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur, is launching a statewide land record updation drive under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from June 15 to facilitate eligible farmers in receiving financial assistance under the flagship programme.

According to a notification issued by Director of Agriculture Peter Salam, many farmers registered under PM-KISAN have been unable to receive the annual benefit of Rs 6,000 due to non-updation of their land records on the PM-KISAN portal.

To address the issue, the department will set up dedicated help desks at all fertiliser distribution centres notified by the department across the state from June 15 onwards. The help desks will assist farmers in checking their PM-KISAN status, updating land records, resolving registration-related issues and submitting documents for verification.

The department has advised farmers to visit the designated centres with their Aadhaar card and the latest land records or Jamabandi. In hill areas, farmers may submit a valid land certificate issued by the concerned village authority and authenticated by the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO).

The Agriculture Department has urged all eligible farmers to take advantage of the special drive to ensure that their records are updated and that they continue to receive benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme without interruption.
