ADGP Arvind Kumar taken to AIMS Delhi in an Air Ambulance

Additional Director General of Manipur Police (ADGP) Arvind Kumar who sustained serious injury after he allegedly shot himself at around noon yesterday and have been undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity Hospital here in Imphal have been shifted at AIMS Hospital New Delhi today evening in a special Air Ambulance flight.

According to source, ADGP Arvind Kumar has been accompanied by his wife and IPS Officer Mrs. Anupam. A bullet that hit at his chin pierced near his ear without touching his brain, a hospital source said. Even though he was reported safe till late today afternoon hospital source said that there are possibilities of blood clothing at his brain. Quoting police source, today’s media report said the ADGP shoot himself with his service revolver in his office located at the premises of the 1st Manipur Riffle at around 1 pm yesterday.

Arvind Kumar is a 1992 batch IPS officer of the Manipur cadre and had served in the Intelligence Bureau as its Joint Director in New Delhi before coming back to Manipur Police.
