At least 43 persons lost their lives and as many as 382 others sustained serious injury at various road accident in Thoubal district alone in the year 2014. Among the injured many become physically impaired for lifetime.
According to the record obtained from various police stations of Thoubal district, the Police pulled up 138 cases and 32 cases have been filed charge sheet out of which 6 cases are related to murder and 8 cases of rape.
In a report obtained from Thoubal Police of last year, under the supervision of Thoubal Police Superintendent, K. Radhashyam the district Police had conducted various operations. At the operations the district Police pulled up 73 cadres of various insurgent groups; UNLF – 13, UPRF – 1, KCP – 15, KYKL – 11, PREPAK – 19, PLA/RPF – 10, MNRF – 3 and GANG – 2. And in the operation conducted by combined force (district Police and Security Force) 88 different insurgent groups were arrested; KYKL – 20, PREPAK – 16, UNLF – 15, KCP – 8, MNRF – 2, KNF – 6, PLA/RPF – 16, PULF – 3, ARM Miscreant – 1 and UKLF – 1.
