The urn containing Aasthi (Holy Ashes) of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee was brought here at Imphal for holding a Prayer Meeting by Rajya Sabha MP K. Bhabananda Singh today.
The Aasthi was received by Agriculture Minister V. Hangkhanlian and IPR Minister Th. Bishwajit Singh at Imphal International Airport. The high ranking officers of Government Departments and distinguished people from different fields were also present.
Governor Dr. Najma Heptulla and Chief Minister N.Biren Singh will lead in paying tribute to the former Prime Minister by holding Prayer Meeting at City Convention, Imphal. Later, the Aasthi will be submerged in Imphal River (Sanjenthong).
