6 bunkers dismantled in Kangpokpi; arms seized

Security forces dismantled six illegal bunkers in Kangpokpi district, police said today. The bunkers were located at Tingpibung village (two), Lungter Hill (three), and Leplen village (one). Twelve empty 7.62 mm ammunition cases were recovered from the sites.
In a separate intelligence-based operation on April 21, arms and explosives were recovered between Indo-Myanmar Border Pillars 72 and 73 under Moreh police station in Tengnoupal district. The items included an AK-47 rifle, a carbine, four improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and two Motorola radio sets. The IEDs were neutralised at the site.
Security has been intensified across the state with 112 nakas and checkpoints set up. Nine individuals were detained, while search operations and patrols continue in sensitive areas, particularly along the border.
