Troops of Red Shield Division apprehended five KNLF cadres along with weapons from M Songgel area of Churachandpur district during a operation conducted on September 8. A PRO Defense statement said that the cadres were identified as Army No. 137, Ngangam, aged 19 yrs, S/O Dongjang, R/O Village Gamphajang, DistChandel (Manipur), Army No. 16, Francis, aged 18 yrs, S/O Lulun, R/O Village Bongjoi, DistChandel (Manipur), Army No. 1012, Galhang, aged 23 yrs, S/O Lambu, R/O Village Tengnopal, DistChandel (Manipur), Army No 1041, Minlun, aged 23 yrs, S/O Henkholen, R/O Village Tollen, DistChurachandpur (Manipur) and Army No 107, Arjun @ Kakap, aged 24 yrs, S/O Muljathang, R/O Village T Nampao, DistChandel (Manipur). Two 9 mm Carbines Machine Guns with one magazine (Regd No LS 80146 and SOS 0020222), one 9 mm Pistol with magazine and eight 9 mm live rounds were recovered from the apprehendees. The cadres and the recovery were handed over to Imphal (West) police station on the following day.
