The perpetrator of the shocking molestation of a tuition-going girl, which was widely circulated on social media today, was arrested by a team of Imphal West District police led by Additional SP (Crime Against Woman) Ratana, including a team of Imphal PS led by OC IPS, a team of Cyber Cell IW under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Imphal West.
The arrest comes after a social media post was seen circulated widely, especially on Facebook and Instagram, in which a mid-age person who came in a two-wheeler sexually assaulted a girl who was going for tuition at Keishampat Thiyam Leikai.
After examining the videos and the CCTV footage minutely and through other sources, the person was zeroed into one Haobam Ibomcha Singh (43) of Lalambung Makhong Takhellambam Leikai. Immediately, the team of police rushed to Lalambung area and arrested the person from his house. He has confessed to having committed the crime. A suo motto case has been registered at Imphal PS for taking legal action.
