24 hours bandh called against R.N Ravi’s visit paralyzes Kwairambandh Keithel

Imphal, Sept 11: Imphal witness total shut down of the three Kwairambandh Keithel during the 24 hours bandh called against the visit of the R.N Ravi, Interlocutor of Indo-NSCN-IM peace talk here in Imphal. R.N Ravi who arrived here in Imphal leaves for New Delhi today morning in an Air India flight. During his stayed, the Indian interlocutor had met representatives of the UNC, UCM, AMUCO and CSSK separately and discussed about the issues encircling to the signing of the framework agreement between the Government of India and NSCN-IM.
The Kwairambandh vendor women has been boycotting the visit of the Indian Interlocutor in protest against the signing of the framework agreement with the NSCN-IM without consulting the Chief Minister of Manipur and other neighbouring states of Nagaland. The vendor women also protest against the government failure to disclose the details of the framework agreement.
The  women vendors have imposed the Keithel area bandh with effect from today (September 10) midnight.
During the bandh, almost all shops at Thangal Keithel, Paona Keithel, B.T. Road and Nagamapal remain closed.
It may be mentioned that the women vendors took out a protest rally on Thursday from Samumakhong to Raj Bhavan denouncing RN Ravi’s visit to the State.
