Imphal, Oct 2: District Police Commando Imphal West arrested a member of PREPAK western side of Ngakraba bridge near Nambul River on September 29 morning. The arrested cadre is identified as Md. Habibur Rahaman (46) yrs S/o (l) M.V Abdul Hamid of Yairipok Singa, Thoubal District . Police source said that that he was involved in extortion of huge amount of money from the Transport contractor of Thoubal District, Bishnupur District, Imphal East and West District since September, 2015 for raising their party fund. Incriminating articles were seized from his possession.
On the same day another team of Imphal West district police commando arrested a member of KCP (Poirei group) Wangoi Mamang Thiyam Leikai area at around 11.45 am. The arrested person is identified as Huidrom Deben Singh (48) yrs S/o (l) H. Tompishak Singhof Wangoi Mamang Thiyam Leikai. Police said that he was involved in extortion of huge amount of money from the general public.
