2-day Nagaland Legislative Assembly session begins; adjourned in 15 min

Opening session of the 12th session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Nagaland Legislative Assembly that begins today at 9.30 am had been adjourned at 9.45 am.
During the 15-minutes session, the Assembly moved for amendment of increment to salaries, allowances, other facilities of Chief Minister, other Ministers, Speaker, Leader of Opposition, Deputy Speaker and other Members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Parliamentary Secretaries and pension for ex-Members, Parliamentary Affairs Minister.
According to the new amendment, Rs 18,87,60,000 will be spent annually on salaries and other allowances of Chief Minister, Ministers, PSs, MLAs, ex-MLAs, Ex-IMB, etc. in Nagaland. The total financial implication for the revision of The Nagaland Salaries, Allowances, Other Facilities of Chief Minister, other Ministers, Speaker, Leader of Opposition, Deputy Speaker and other Members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly/Parliamentary Secretaries and pension for Ex-Members 2005 (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2006 will be Rs 60,85,000/_ (Sixty lakh eighty thousand). The financial implication for Ex-Members which has been raised in tune with the Ex-IBM have a higher financial implication of Rs 70,50,000 (Seventy lakh fifty thousand) and family pension of Rs 26,10,000 (Twenty-six lakh ten thousand) per month, according to report by NEPS.
It also added that the total financial implication of both the existing and Ex-Members including Family Pension will be Rs 1,57,30,000/- (One crore fifty-seven lakh thirty thousand) per month and Rs 18,87,60,000/- (Eighteen crore eighty-seven lakh sixty thousand) per annum.
It is reported that after seeing Members leaving the house, some pressmen, who reached Assembly Complex by 9:40 am to attend the Session were found wondering if there was no Session today.
