A team of Manipur Police apprehended two individuals along with sophisticated arms and ammunitions from Paona Bazar Nambul Mapal area of Imphal West on Wednesday evening.
A statement by Manipur Police Control Room said that both the arrested individuals are members of Arambai Tengol (AT).
The two arrested persons have been identified as Kangabam Lenin Singh, aged 43, and Toijam Shantikishore, aged 50. The police said that a range of weaponry and equipment, including one INSAS rifle with a magazine containing 16 live rounds, one .38 caliber pistol with a magazine holding 3 live rounds, and a Maruti Gypsy vehicle were recovered from them.
A formal case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the full extent of their activities and to pursue appropriate legal action.
