13 more non locals pulled up by JCILPS volunteers

Imphal, Sept 27: 13 non locals who entered the state without proper valid identity documents were today pull up by volunteers of JCILPS at around 7 am. The non locals were traveling all the way from West Bengal to Dimapur by train and then were on their way to Imphal. They were reportedly hired by one contractor identified as L Baleshwar, for construction work of Leishang Hiden at Chanchipur in Imphal West. JCILPS had earlier announced to ban entry of non locals in the state until the state government passed a bill for introduction of Inner Line Permit System in the state. The committee had begun the extreme move after the state government failed to give positive response to the demand of the JCILPS to summon a special legislative session for passing of the ILPS bill by September 21. The 13 non-locals pulled up today were intercepted by volunteers of JCILPS at Motbung Keithel while they were on their way to Imphal on a Winger vehicle bearing registration number MN 03-0566. The owner of the vehicle has been identified as K Subash, s/o K Chaoba of Kongba Kshetri Leikai. Speaking to media persons at its Keishampat Office, Convenor of JCILPS BK Moirangcha expressed dissatisfaction to the attitude of the some of the fellow people of the state who are intentionally trying to sabotage the movement for protection of the indigenous people of the state. He said the owner of the Winger vehicle K Subash and the contractor L. Baleshwar who had hired the non locals to come to the office of the JCILPS within 24 hour to clarify regarding the transportation of the non-locals during JCILPS ban.
