12 hours Tamenglong dist. bandh on Oct 11 called

Imphal, Oct 6: Tamenglong & Longmai (Noney) District Citizens’ Welfare Forum has threatened to call total shut down of NH-37 and ban of all national Projects being taken up in both the districts on October 11 over government failures to make functional of the Autonomous District Council Tamenglong.
A press statement of the forum said that a memorandum regarding the defunct state of the Autonomous District Council Tamenglong has been submitted to the Chief Minister of Manipur on September 24, later an ultimatum has also been served on October 5 for addressing the issue, however no intimation has been made from the state government.
The statement said that in view of the statement issue the NH -37 shall be blocked from all vehicular movement on the 11th of October , 2017 (6:00 am to 6:00 pm) and thereby Halt all National Projects whatsoever active along the Highway.
The forum further added that the incumbent Council has already faced a No-Confidence motion in March 2017 and the resignation of the Vice Chairman and four other executives has also been made public.
