11th National Voters’ Day celebrated at Chandel

The 11th National voters’ day was celebrated today at Chandel District. The theme of today’s celebration was “Making our voters ’empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed. The celebration was organised by the District Election Officer, Chandel.

Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar said that voting is an important democratic exercise and is the very back bone of democracy, and it will be more meaning full if the voters become more informed and vigilant. He further said that getting voting rights is an event in one’s life, and all the voters should exercise their rights with the right mindset without letting other unwanted factors affecting their decisions.

He further said that the National Voters’ Day is being celebrated by giving more emphasis to the youths, and the first time voters so that they are empowered, vigilant and well informed. While felicitating the newly registered voters of the district, he asked them to exercise their voting rights with upmost diligence.

As part of today’s function Epic Card were also distributed to the newly registered voters of the district.

Today’s function was attended by all the district level officers.
