104th Birth Anniversary of Maharajkumari Binodini Devi observed

The LEIKOL (Leimarol Khorjeikol), Manipur, today observed the 104th birth anniversary of Maharajkumari Binodini Devi and released the LEIKOL Journal at the State Central Library, Imphal.
Eminent filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma attended the function as Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, he described Maharajkumari Binodini Devi as the pride of Manipur, recalling her multifaceted contributions to literature, art and culture. He appreciated her lifelong dedication to enriching the cultural and intellectual landscape of the state, stating that her works continue to inspire generations.
The programme also featured reflections on the enduring relevance of Maharajkumari Binodini Devi’s writings and creative pursuits, highlighting her role in shaping modern Manipuri literature and artistic expression.
Gangmei Aguna Kabuini, Retired Guru Ahan (Professor) and former Head of the Department of Tribal Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, and Ch. Subadani Devi, President of LEIKOL (Leimarol Khorjeikol), Manipur, graced the occasion as dignitaries on the dais.
The LEIKOL Journal, released during the programme, is aimed at promoting literary discourse and preserving the legacy of women’s contributions to Manipuri society, culture and scholarship.
The event was attended by writers, scholars, students and admirers of Maharajkumari Binodini Devi, who paid rich tributes to her remarkable life and lasting impact on Manipur’s cultural heritage.
