Sir,
Ever since Nicolas Maduro became the Venezuelan President in 2013, he began indulging in corruption ,nepotism, centralisation of power and brutal force to suppress dissent. In May 2018, Maduro was re-elected amidst dissent and a severe economic and humanitarian crisis.Hyperinflation has rocked the nation US had recognized Juan Guaido ,the Opposition Leader and President of the National Assembly,as the interim President of Venezuela .Then President Donald Trump has mooted for sanctions and military action against Venezuela .The US stance is still supported by a host of Latin American countries and Canada and opposed by Russia and its allies.Any action on Venezuela will infringe on its sovereignty and will put forward the US as an aggressor. Therefore, the Biden administration must act with caution and diplomacy to resolve the crisis.
Thanking you ,
Yours truly,
