Understanding teenager’s behavior

It has now become very difficult to understand teenager’s behavior. As a parent we try our best to protect our children. We fear if they’ll fall into bad companies. So we start to suspect on every movement they take; why he is coming home late, whom does he meet, and what was he doing? The critical part is when they come to know that we are suspecting on them. That is the time they play immature and start acting like a kid; they will not eat food, they’ll become arrogant, and they’ll act emotional. It is very critical these days that we can’t even shout at them; some of them might answer you back or some might go away from home and come back later or may not come back until we request them to come back. The world has changed now, when we were kids we showed respect to our elders, we didn’t even lift our head up when our father yelled at us coz we knew they were yelling for my good. I admit that part of the changes is good. World has become more advanced; new technologies, different lifestyle, and a whole new era. It seems that, when the world was changing something along with the old world got vanished, something very important, something very valuable; it’s the respect. Respect seems to be long gone from our children’s mentality. Children have become very modern that they rely half of their lives on internet, social networking sites and many others. I believe this must be the root causes of their changing behavior. As a parent we should do our best to protect our children. But we cannot be harsh on them; we can’t yell or tell them to not meet his friends and not to do this and that. First step is to become their friend not parents, and then gradually we’ll come to understand them.
