Food technology is the branch of science that studies the chemical processes involved in preserving food nutrients.
The United Nations established World Food Day in 1945 with the goal of providing safe and healthy food to everyone in the world.  Nowadays it is important to strengthen the immune system by eating a healthy diet.  To meet this need, there is a growing demand in the food industry for professionals involved in food production, storage, testing, packaging and handling.  That is why young people are now looking at this field as a career.

Food technology is the branch of science that studies the chemical processes involved in preserving food nutrients.  Due to food technology, the food system has developed tremendously all over the world.  According to a report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the CAGR in the Indian food service market is projected to grow by 10 per cent to Rs 5,52,000 by 2022.  In this case, you can also find ways to advance in the field of food technology.

How to enter this field
After passing 12th in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, you can pursue a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Microbiology.  After Bachelor, you can also pursue advanced degrees in Food Chemistry, Manufacturing Process and other fields.  You can also pursue a diploma in Dietetics and Nutrition and Food Science and Public Health Nutrition.  Get admission in food technology BTech in other institutes including IIT through JEE


The challenges are not small
Professionals in this field face new challenges.  The biggest challenge is maintaining the taste and quality of the product.  Food technologists have to work hard to maintain product quality.
