The Sports Authority of India (SAI), NERC Imphal, organised a “Sunday on Cycle” rally in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Imphal today as part of the ongoing cycling campaign launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in December 2024.
The rally, organised by SAI STC-Imphal at Khuman Lampak, was held under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India), with the slogan “Say Yes to Fitness, Say No to Drugs”. The campaign seeks to promote cycling as an eco-friendly and sustainable means of improving fitness, preventing lifestyle-related diseases and encouraging community participation in physical activities.
Padma N. Kunjarani Devi flagged off the rally, which was attended by officers and personnel of different CRPF units under the supervision of Saurabh Kumar Choudhary, Commandant, 86th Battalion CRPF.
The cyclists covered the route from Khuman Lampak through Kangla, Moirangkhom, Singjamei, Pishumthong, Keishamthong, Keishampat Junction, Wahengbam Leikai, Nagamapal and Khoyathong before concluding at North AOC.
