The District Magistrate of Noney has announced that applications are being invited from eligible individuals and organisations for empanelment as Support Persons under Section 39 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, to assist child victims of sexual offences.
According to the notification, issued following a directive from the Director of the Social Welfare Department dated February 2, 2026, the empanelment will be carried out in compliance with the provisions of the POCSO Act, 2012 and the POCSO Rules, 2020. It was stated that eligible applicants should hold a postgraduate degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or Child Development, or be graduates with at least three years of experience in child education, development or child protection-related work. The District Magistrate further indicated that organisations working in the field of child rights or child protection, as well as officials associated with children’s or shelter homes responsible for child custody, would also be considered eligible.
It was informed that selected Support Persons would be engaged for a period of three years, subject to annual review by the District Child Protection Officer and approval of the District Magistrate. Remuneration would be paid on a pro-rata basis depending on the nature and extent of work performed, while travel expenses incurred during official duties would be reimbursed upon verification.
The District Magistrate stated that interested applicants must submit their applications in the prescribed format along with self-attested copies of relevant documents to the office of the undersigned on or before February 11, 2026, by 6 pm. It was clarified that incomplete applications or those received after the deadline would not be considered.
It was also informed that personal interviews of shortlisted candidates are scheduled to be held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Noney, at 12 noon on February 12, 2026.
