Christopher Tilak launches fierce attack on BJP at “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” campaign in Imphal

The Congress Party’s nationwide signature campaign “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” was formally launched today at Heingang Mayai Leikai, Imphal, with a blistering critique of the BJP government delivered by AICC Secretary for Manipur, Christopher Tilak.
Speaking at a press conference held at Congress Bhavan, Tilak condemned what he termed the “Manipur Chori by BJP,” accusing the ruling party of undermining democracy and failing the people of Manipur on every front. He questioned the legitimacy of governance in the state, especially in light of the recent bandh called by underground outfits, stating, “Who is really in control when even the Governor seems to be under their influence?”
Tilak declared that the last four years of BJP rule had left Manipur “constitutionally messed up, economically devastated, socially bifurcated, and politically deteriorated to a national issue.” He lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for refusing to visit the violence-stricken state and blamed the government for failing to rehabilitate displaced families, instead sowing division and chaos.
The campaign launch was attended by Congress leaders including MPCC President K. Meghachandra Singh, CLP Leader O. Ibobi Singh, CWC Member Gaikhangam, and former MP Th. Meinya, who echoed Tilak’s call for unity and resistance against what they described as BJP’s destructive politics.
