MOA and Mao Catholic Association call on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla

Representatives of the Manipur Olympic Association (MOA) met with the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan today to discuss matters related to sports infrastructure development in the state. A key focus of the meeting was the proposed upgradation of the velodrome and fencing court at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, which are likely to be utilized during the upcoming 39th National Games, scheduled to be held in 2027.
The request to improve these facilities comes in response to a proposal from the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, which is set to host the National Games and has expressed interest in using some of Manipur’s sports venues.
During the meeting, the Governor directed the Secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS), N. Praveen Singh—who was also present—to expedite the process for upgrading the infrastructure to ensure timely completion ahead of the major national sporting event.
In a separate engagement at Raj Bhavan, representatives of the Mao Catholic Association also called on Governor Bhalla to seek his support in advancing community welfare initiatives. The Governor assured the delegation of his attention and encouragement toward inclusive development efforts.
