Imphal, Feb 18:

Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) recently conducted its General Assembly Meeting, where it established an executive council for the youth organization. Earlier, the function was done through MAYOL Organizing Committee which has conducted extensive campaigns throughout the valley in the last few months.
Earlier, MAYOL organized a Long March with the goal of actively engaging with the public, understanding their needs and aspirations, and advocating for revitalization and preparedness to tackle contemporary challenges. These challenges include widespread indifference towards political and social service engagement, demographic decline, geopolitical crises affecting essential transportation routes, economic reliance, a limited perspective confined to the Imphal Plain, and a perceived erosion of moral and national ethos. The objective of the march was to mobilize the public to effectively confront and address these challenges.
In today’s general assembly, a decision was made to form a seventeen-member executive council to carry forward the organization’s mission. In the newly formed executive council of MAYOL, Ashem Prince assumes the role of president, Suresh Koijam as Vice President, Laishram James as general secretary, Sanasam Abhiraj as assistant general secretary, Lamyanba Sarangthem as Finance secretary, Birendra Thangjam as assistant Finance Secretary, Tongbram Nardaya as Organisation Secretary, Khestrimyum Osia as Assistant Organisation Secretary, Mayengbam Premananda as Publicity Secretary, Konjengbam Samananda as Assistant Publicity Secretary, Leishemba Chingangbam as Auditor, and Dinku Longham as office secretary. Additionally, Thoudam Priyananda, Herojit Thounaojam, Thoudam Mangolnganbi, Maishnam Hirabati, and Laishram Ranbir serve as executive members.
