Thoubal police team busted two Heroin and Brown Sugar manufacturing factories at Lilong Nungei area under Lilong Police station in Thoubal district yesterday evening. Around 565 grams of refined Heroin Brown Sugar, 1104.98 Kg of Heroin brown sugar, 5 Kg of Opium, and 131 liters of Morphinated Liquids and other items used for manufacturing the narcotic substances were seized during the operation conducted at the residence of Md Maneruddin 49 year and Md Manergul 53 year son of late Md Najejeruddin of Lilong Khunou Mamang Leikai.
Police source said that three persons identified as Md. Yunus Khan (22 years) of Nungei Mamang Leikai, Bogimayum Sher Shaha (23 years) of Uchiwa Haotabi Makha Leikai and Md. Manergul (53 years) of Lilong Ningei Khunou Mamang Leikai were arrested in the connection while 4(four) persons including a supplier of Opium, who is also ex-head constable who had been dismissed from service on October 2020 identified as Md. Akbar Khan (51 years) from Thoubal Moijing Wangmataba are at large.
Four (4) vehicles which are suspected to be used in the transportation of the illicit substances were also recovered. The police also seized Rs. 61,400/- in cash from their possession.
The operation was led by Sachidananda Soibam MPS Addl SP Operation, Inspector Md Riaj Khan OC Lilong PS, Inspector N Tikendra Officer in charge, CDO unit Thoubal SI S Ibomcha, 2nd OC Thoubal PS under the command and overall supervision of Superintendent of police Thoubal District Dr. S Ibomcha MPS. A case has been registered at Lilong Police station and investigation is on.
