Imphal, April.10: The Local MLA of Jiribam Assembly constituency Ashab Uddin clarified his stance against the allegation of his connection with drug Mafia which was published in a Silchar based Bangali Newspaper on April 04,2017 and later the same article of the news was translated in English and published in the Imphal based daily evening English newspaper āImphal TimesāĀ on April 07, 2017.
On the telephonic conversation with Imphal Times Ashab Uddin said that the Zilla Parishad member and Panchayat of Sadin bazaar area under Sonai Assembly constituency of Assam in Cachar District has invited him and arranged a reception programme at the locality on his success over the Jiribam Assembly constituency in the recent election. Referring the allegation of his nexus with drug Mafia,Ā Ashab Uddin said it was a political conspiracyĀ trying to malign his identity.Ā Further,Ā he added such allegation of his connection with drug Mafia is beyond his acquaintance and all these allegation are baseless.
