AMUCO extended helping hands to Sirarakhong villagers

Imphal, April 7: A team of All Manipur United Club Organisation (AMUCO) today extended helping hands to the landslide victims of Sirarakhong Village in Chingai Sub-Division of Ukhrul district.
The team led by Ph. Devan, President AMUCO also handed over a sum of Rs. 10,000/- to the Chairman of Sirarakhong Village, L. Ngathingyao. Relief materials including edible items were also distributed to the villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, AMUCO president Ph. Deven lauded the initiative of the BJP led government by providing immediate relief to the villagers. He said the AMUCO will always support such initiative in the coming days.
On the other hand the president of the AMUCO also appealed the government to take up speedy work for repairing of the road connectivity. He said after the village has been sink a diversion road is being used however, the condition of the road need to be properly looked into.  
A total of 8 houses were sunk at Sirarakhong village on April 5 due to landslide cause by the incessant rain. The village is about 85 kilometer from the Imphal city and is about 136 kilometer from the Ukhrul district head quarter.
Two days after the tragedy, a team of Manipur government led by Forest and environment Minister Th. Shyamkumar along with other government functionary visited the site and extended immediate relief to the villagers.
