Imphal, Dec 29: After BJP MLA Khumukcham Joykishan had joined the INC, 8 more peoples’ representative of Imphal Municipal Council today joined the INC. The 8 IMC councilors and members were given a warmth reception by the MPCC President TN Hoakip, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam along with other top functionaries of the MPCC.
Those joined the INC today are Gaidon Rongmei, Councillor Ward No.1, Thokchom Punachandra Singh, Councillor Ward No 2, Yendrembam Premila, member ward No. 1, Thokchom Suresh, Member ward No. 2, Ngangbam Dhananjoy, Member, ward No. 2, Meinam Chittrangada Devi, Member Ward No. 3, Kwairakpam Premjit Member, ward no. 25 and Meinam Jiten Singh Member , Ward no. 25.
Councilor of Ward No. Gaidon Rongmei while speaking on the occasion said that he along with others decided to join the INC as INC appears as the only political party which can form a stable government.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh while welcoming the 8 new members appealed the people to maintain communal harmony among the people of the state. He said valley region of the state is a home of all communities of the state and we different communities of the state should work hard to make Manipur a developed state.
