School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) of Leipat Primary School Khangabok Part -3 today alleged that ZEO of Thoubal district Kh. Amuba had misappropriated fund amounting to rupees 10 lakhs meant for construction of the primary school sanctioned under Sarva Shikshya Abhiyan (SSA). In a press meet held today at the school premises at Khangabok in Thoubal district, member of the SMDC and also the convenor of the School Construction Committee Khundrakpam Shyam Singh said that ZEO Thoubal Kh. Amuba along with his subordinate staffs DPM, P Sukumar and AI, O Joykumar had withdrawn the amount from the school account on February 12, 2014. The Leipat Primary School was started constructing from February 27, 2014.
Khundrakpam Shyam further said that the matter was complaint to the Chief Minister, Education Minister, DC Thoubal, Principal Secretary Education (s) and the local MLA. As accordingly the local MLA O Landhoni Devi summoned the ZEO on October 6, 2014 and a joint meeting was held at the quarter of the MLA. On that meeting ZEO Amuba had agreed to return back the withdraw amount however, till today the amount has never been deposited.
The SMDC convenor further added that the present site for construction of the Leipat Primary School was procured by the SMDC with a sum of rupees 3 lakhs and was later donated to the Director of Education (s) Government of Manipur.
