Tension runs high at UNACCO School of Excellence after the locals of Khongman area where the school is located had resolved to boycott the school following denial of admission of some students from the surrounding locality. UNACCO authority had however clarified that there were no denial to the admission of students at the school and the admission is still on through local cable TV. All of a sudden some people vandalised the school yesterday late evening however, locals of the area said that they have nothing to do with the violent activities. Following the development, locals of Khongman area today gathered in front of the school and demonstrated protest by not allowing any staffs of the school to enter it.
Speaking to media, Wangkheimayum (o) Sumati of Khongman Lisam Leirak said that a local meeting was held yesterday evening at the community hall of Khongman with the Pradhan, MLA and local leaders. And it was resorted to boycott UNACCO for the indifference attitude of Irabanta who is the managing director of UNACO. She added that Irabanta falsely alleged that her child who studied in the school used to carry bombs and guns in school bag. Yesterday afternoon at around 2 pm Irabanta called for a parents’ meeting regarding the school admission issue. But the meeting was not successful as Irabanta made false allegations. She said there had been some issues earlier with the local of Khongman Lisam Leirak and Irabanta regarding construction of the road. For his false allegation and indifferent attitude the locals resorted to boycott UNACCO staffs from traversing the road by the locals of Khongman area, added Sumati. Sumati said that who had made the wreckage of UNACCO School is unaware.
