Imphal East Hockey Granted Affiliation

Hockey Unit of Imphal East (HUIE) has been granted affiliation to Manipur Hockey as per office memorandum issued today by President of the state body Basudev Singh. 
As per direction of Hockey India, the Hockey Unit of Imphal East (HUIE) was formed on July 23 last under the supervision and in presence of officials of Manipur Hockey. The Executive Board of the district level body is composed of 11 members representing various Hockey clubs of Imphal East, while there are also two athlete representatives and two associate members.  
Seram Neken representing Hockey Association of Young Talents (HAYT) and Seram Surjit of Social Youth United Club, Uchekon Khunou were elected as the president and the secretary respectively of the district level body, while Ch. Bala Singh of Hockey Union, M. Ibetombi Devi of Hockey Union and Ksh Shantakumar of SEYO are Senior Vice President and Vice presidents respectively.
P. Bandhan, President of Social Workers Congress (SWC) Khongman has been appointed Associate Vice President, while K. Shivakumar Sharma of HAYT is the Associate Joint Secretary. M. Prameshwor of Khongman Students Club and Th. Suchitra of MEIRAA, Bashikhong are Joint Secretaries, while Naorem Sanjoy of YCCIC, Ahallup is the Treasurer. Three executive members are Th. Romita Devi of MEIRAA, Ch. Memcha Devi of YCCIC and Y. Bhupen of Khongman Hockey Academy. 
As per the prevailing norms of Hockey India, L. Suresh Singh and Ng Thaba Devi have been appointed as Athlete Representatives. H. Ahenta Sharma is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the district level Hockey unit. 
Imphal East district has altogether eight clubs affiliated to Manipur Hockey, and with the formation of the new district level body, more and more teams will be promoted by way of enrolling new clubs, said a release issued by Secretary of Hockey Union of Imphal East (HUIE) .
