Diphu Nihang of Assam defeated Arambai Tengol of Manipur with a score of 108–77 in the final match of the All India Men’s Open Basketball Tournament 2025, organised by Arambai Tengol Unit 37.
The tournament, which featured participation from 15 teams, concluded with a thrilling final clash between Diphu Nihang and Arambai Tengol. By the third round, Diphu Nihang had established a commanding lead, ultimately securing 108 points against Arambai Tengol’s 77, clinching the championship title.
In the prize distribution ceremony, Arambai Tengol, the runners-up, received a cash award of Rs. 50,000, while winners Diphu Nihang were awarded Rs.1 lakh. The awards were presented by social worker Ngangbam Robert.

Speaking at the event, Robert highlighted the importance of such tournaments in channeling the energy of today’s youth towards constructive avenues like sports instead of destructive habits. He noted that beyond the competitive spirit, the tournament also fostered discipline, unity, and friendship among players from Manipur and other states.
