BBA organises Judo gear distribution programme

The Brave Boys Association, Mayang Imphal, organised a distribution programme at the BBA Judo Indoor Hall, Mayang Imphal, in connection with a one month Judo Winter Camp sponsored by the Inspire Institute of Sports, Vijayanagar, Bellary district, Karnataka. As part of the programme, judo gis and training dress sets were distributed to selected judo trainees.
Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency MLA K Robindro attended the programme as chief guest. The event was also attended by Yumnam Dijendro Mangang, President of the Brave Boys Association; Kangjam Ibemhal Devi, wife of K Chandra Singh and founder of Judo Manipur; Khaidem Guni Singh, NIS coach and BBA judo coach; A Surjit Meitei, NIS coach and BBA judo coach, along with founder members and senior members of the association.
Addressing the gathering, MLA K Robindro stated that although it may not be possible to personally meet all expenditures when trainees travel outside the state, efforts would be made to provide assistance wherever feasible. He noted that parents often face considerable financial burden when their children travel outside Manipur for training and competitions, and said steps would be explored to create a common fund to support trainees in need. He added that such support would also be extended to judo players encountering financial difficulties while competing outside the state.
The MLA further observed that sportspersons are often recognised only after winning medals, with public receptions and media attention, while the sustained effort and support required before success often go unnoticed. He stressed the importance of providing support at the grassroots level, particularly to young children, stating that success in sports is the result of collective effort involving athletes, coaches and the community.
He urged the trainees to remain disciplined, focused and committed to regular training, stating that dedication and perseverance are essential for achieving success and winning medals. He also appealed to local communities, clubs and institutions to encourage and support young sportspersons so that Mayang Imphal and the constituency as a whole can take pride in their achievements.
