A team of ten players from D Chess Academy, Imphal, led by coach Yambem Dhanabir Singh, left Imphal today to participate in the 1st Assam University International Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament scheduled to be held in Silchar, Assam from June 28 to July 3, 2025.
In a press release, Dr. Sougaijam Priyokumar Meitei, Secretary of D Chess Academy, conveyed best wishes to the participating players and expressed hope for a strong performance at the tournament, which is expected to feature players from across the country and abroad.
The players representing the academy in the tournament are Williamba Moirangthem, Konjengbam Poireikhomba Meetei, Naorem Cha Yoihenba, Punsiba Maisnam, Jonex Nandeibam, Khuman Einstein Maibam, Lemba Sougaijam, Dayanand Thoudam, Leirikhomba Mangang, and Maibam Yohenba Khuman. Coach Yambem Dhanabir Singh will be accompanying the team.
