This world

By Shongminthang Haokip, UAE

Though part of my poetic soul finds
Serenity in every essence of life
From the fresh air I breathe
To the paradisal natures around
Or the affections I have for humans
And the fulfilling lives of other species
And yet despite every reasons to rejoice
Part of me feels I don’t belong here
Where human minds are corrupted with
             perceptions filled with selfishness
driven by emotions and destructive ego
I find no place to take my soul at peace
only but lesser people to trust
As I long for eternal bliss.
