Imphal, April 25:

In a concerted effort to combat the rising prevalence of liver fibrosis and related health complications, Zydus Health Care Limited and Raj Medicity have once again teamed up to organize a health camp focused on liver fibrosis. This marks the third consecutive year of their collaborative initiative, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to promoting liver health within the community.
The health camp, spearheaded by Dr. Thokchom Joy Singh, Senior Consultant Physician at Raj Medicity, aims to shed light on the alarming increase in liver fibrosis cases, particularly attributed to factors such as obesity, fatty liver disease, and associated conditions like high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
“Obesity has emerged as a significant contributor to liver fibrosis and fatty liver disease,” remarked Dr. Thokchom Joy Singh during the event. “It’s imperative to recognize that liver health can be compromised not only by alcohol consumption but also by lifestyle factors such as obesity and comorbidities like hypertension.”
One of the key highlights of the health camp is the utilization of advanced scanning machines to assess the health status of participants’ livers. This proactive approach enables early detection and intervention, crucial in mitigating the progression of liver fibrosis and preventing associated complications.
Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of community engagement in tackling liver-related ailments. “By organizing this health camp, we aim to empower individuals with knowledge about liver health and encourage proactive measures to safeguard against liver fibrosis and its detrimental effects on overall health,” he stated.
The health camp serves as a platform for participants to receive comprehensive health assessments, educational resources, and guidance from medical professionals. Through interactive sessions and personalized consultations, attendees gain valuable insights into preventive measures, lifestyle modifications, and available treatment options.
