TSA and TIM condemn Nambol ambush, extend condolences

The Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) and the Thadou Students’ Association (TSA-GHQ) have strongly condemned the terror ambush on 33 Assam Rifles personnel at Nambol in Bishnupur district yesterday, which claimed the lives of Naib Subedar Shyam Gurung and Rifleman Ranjit Singh Kashyap.
In separate statements issued today, both organisations expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured personnel and civilians.
TIM described the attack as an act of terror that has no place in a civilized society and urged the authorities to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice. The organisation appealed to the Government of India to address the root causes of the conflict and work towards lasting peace in the state.
TSA, while terming the ambush a cowardly act, stressed that violence only derails the fragile peace process in Manipur. The association reaffirmed its solidarity with the Armed Forces, the bereaved families, and the people of Manipur.
