Imphal, March 11:

The Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC), in collaboration with the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Sagolband, organized a Special Health Camp at Paona Bazar under the supervision of MLA RK Imo Singh. The organizers stated that the initiative reaffirmed their commitment to providing accessible and quality healthcare.
According to them, the health camp was part of a series of similar programs started in 2022 to bring essential medical services and e-governance health solutions directly to the people. They mentioned that the initiative aimed to ensure inclusivity and healthcare accessibility for all sections of society.
Officials informed that the camp provided various free services, including OPD consultations, screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, oral, breast, and cervical cancer, immunization for children, free medicines, and laboratory tests. They added that ABHA ID (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) creation and specialized eye OPD services were also available.
They reported that more than 150 beneficiaries availed the services, reflecting the public’s need and appreciation for such healthcare initiatives. MLA RK Imo Singh stated that mobile health camps played a crucial role in reaching a larger section of the community. He mentioned that the initiative was specifically meant for the people of Ward No. 24, including Paona Bazar residents.
He also noted that while the UPHC, Sagolband, had been operational since 2021, these outreach programs helped bridge the gap between medical services and underserved populations. The organizers remarked that the success of the health camp highlighted the importance of continued healthcare outreach efforts to ensure essential medical services remained accessible to those in need.
