Scouts and Guides celebrates 39th Foundation Day

The Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides celebrated its 39th Foundation Day at the State Training Centre, Langol Game Village, reaffirming its commitment to youth development, discipline and service.

State Chief Commissioner Mayanglambam Sushil Kumar, IPS (Retd.), highlighted the need to strengthen scouting infrastructure in Manipur, noting that the present training centre operates from a modest facility and requires a permanent training complex and guest house to support the movement’s growth.

He stated that scouting provides young people with meaningful opportunities to develop skills, leadership and resilience needed to face life’s challenges.

Vice President of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Manipur, Father Francis, said scouting is a movement dedicated to service, humility and responsibility, extending beyond uniforms and ceremonies.

Around 70 Scouts and Guides from various schools, along with officials, Scout Masters and Guide Captains, participated in the celebration. The programme featured flag hoisting, prayer and flag songs, scarf presentation and cultural performances.

The organisation also recalled the contribution of the M. Sudhir Singh Scouts and Guides Guest House at Kakching, established in 1997, and expressed hope for stronger facilities as it approaches its 40th year.
