RIMS organizes Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on National Doctors’ Day 2026

As part of the observance of National Doctors’ Day 2026, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp today at the new building of the Department of Transfusion Medicine. The initiative reflected the true spirit of National Doctors’ Day by promoting the values of service, compassion, and social responsibility.

The programme was graced by Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal in the presence of Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital, Imphal, and Dr. Pratima Khoiyumthem, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, said the medical profession is dedicated to public service. He appreciated the RIMS fraternity’s voluntary blood donation as a reflection of empathy and social responsibility, and stressed the need to promote voluntary blood donation in Manipur to bridge the shortage of safe blood.
