RIMS observes Van Mahotsav 2025 with Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive

As part of the nationwide observance of Van Mahotsav 2025, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, conducted a Tree Plantation Program at PG Gents Hostel No. 3 and PG Gents Hostel No. 4 (New Building). The event was held under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0” in collaboration with the Rotary Club Imphal.
Alongside the plantation drive, a social service initiative was also carried out, which included a campus-wide cleanliness campaign. The drive covered the area from Gate No. 2 to the opposite side of the Officers’ Club via Gate No. 1, and from the Main Gate to the Mortuary Gate along the northern side of Jubilee Hall. The objective was to raise awareness about cleanliness and encourage environmental responsibility within the campus community.
Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, reportedly remarked that Van Mahotsav serves as a celebration of humanity’s connection with nature and a reminder of the collective responsibility to protect it. He was said to have commended the RIMS fraternity for their active participation and thanked the Rotary Club Imphal for its support.
The program saw enthusiastic involvement from the Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, the Deputy Director (Administration), the Dean (Academics), Principals of the Dental College and the College of Nursing, Heads of Departments, the Chief Accounts Officer cum Financial Advisor, students, staff, members of the Rotary Club Imphal, and staff from CRED and MSS, RIMS.
