Rashtriya Poshan Maah launched at Kamjong District

The Rashtriya Poshan Maah programme was launched on Thursday at Kamjong district. Organised by the ICDS Cell, Social Welfare of Kamjong, the launching program was held at the Community Hall of Riha Village under Phungyar sub-division. This program is being conducted as a part of the Poshan Abhiyan— PM’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment.
The launching program was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Rangnamei Rang Peter (IAS) as the chief guest, CMO Dr. Lucy Duidang and ZEO L Nabakumar as the guests of honour, and Wungang Mahung, Headman of Riha village as the functional president.
Giving his speech, Shri Rangnamei appreciated the initiative of the Narendra Modi-led government for carrying out this massive program all over the country to focus on the health and nutrition of children, women, and adolescent girls. He appealed to all to observe this program dutifully and to perform the activities included under Poshan Maah properly. He also urged the officials concerned and the Anganwadi workers/helpers to ensure maximum reach of the benefits of this program.
CMO Dr Lucy gave a detailed speech on nutrition among children (0-6years), pregnant women, lactating mothers, and adolescent girls.
A rally was also held as a part of the program participated by the dignitaries and many women.
