PREPAK denies

The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has denied any connection with the two individuals recently arrested by Manipur Police, stating that they have no links with the outfit or its armed wing, the Red Army (RA).

In a statement, Mangal Khuman, Publicity Officer of PREPAK’s Department of Publicity and Propaganda, said the police claim that Ningthoujam Deban Meetei, 55, alias Lucky, of Sagolband Thingom Leikai, and Khaidem Gandhi Meitei, 39, of Sagolband Moirang Leirak, were PREPAK members was baseless.

Manipur Police had reported that the two were arrested by an Imphal West CDO team at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai on August 18 after allegedly being found carrying weapons.

Mangal Khuman alleged that the police had made fabricated and exaggerated claims by linking the two individuals with PREPAK, and reiterated that neither had any connection with the organisation or its armed wing.
